Telangana issues notification for recruitment of 6,500 teacher posts
Addressing a media conference, the Minister said that 5,089 school teacher posts and 1,523 posts for special education schools would be filled up through the notification
HYDERABAD: Minister for Education P Sabitha Indra Reddy on Thursday released notification for the District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment test for filling up 6,500 teacher posts.
The complete guidelines and detailed schedule for the examination would be released by district collectors in a couple of days, the minister said.
Addressing a media conference, the Minister said that 5,089 school teacher posts and 1,523 posts for special education schools would be filled up through the notification. The Minister said that the recruitment of these posts this time would be undertaken by the DSCs instead of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).
Sabitha Indra Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had taken a special interest in developing the education sector. “The Telangana Government is determined to transform Government schools into corporate level, by allocating Rs 29,613 crore in the current fiscal,” she said.
She said that the Gurukul schools were achieving very good results and some of the performing Gurukuls were upgraded into degree colleges. She reminded that the recruitment of 11,714 teaching posts for Gurukuls had begun and the recruitment of 5,310 posts was completed. While 3,140 teaching posts in Intermediate and Degree colleges had been undertaken, contract posts were also being regularised, she added.
