Telangana's development does not rely solely on Musi project: KTR

HYDERABAD: Telangana's development is not solely dependent on the Musi project, said BRS Working President K Tarakara Rama Rao, as he strongly criticised the Congress party’s approach to governance.

KTR stated that Telangana has achieved significant progress under former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao without relying on the Musi project, which Congress leaders have focused on.

KTR, addressing the issue on X (formerly Twitter), targeted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of being unaware of the state’s true progress. He highlighted that Telangana has achieved the highest per capita income in the country and ranks first in GDP growth, without any dependence on the Musi project.

Further emphasising the state’s achievements, KTR noted that Hyderabad surpassed Bengaluru in IT exports without resorting to coercive tactics. He also pointed out that despite the cancellation of the ITIR project by Prime Minister Modi and no financial support from the Centre, Telangana met its IT export targets for 2035 by 2023 under KCR’s leadership.

KTR also mentioned that Telangana became a key seed producer and a leading grain supplier in the country without sending bribes to Delhi. He proudly highlighted Hyderabad’s recognition as the 'World’s Best Green City,' surpassing global cities like Paris and Mexico City, while still focusing on the welfare of the poor.

KTR questioned why the Congress government was touting a "Fourth City" alongside development projects along the Musi river, accusing it of spinning a money scheme with foreign investors. He criticised the Congress for its superficial attempts at projecting future cities while failing in governance. KTR also urged Congress not to disrespect government school students, adding that graduates from the Gurukul schools launched by former CM KCR were excelling excelled in global careers with remarkable English proficiency.
