HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka urged the BRS party to launch an agitation to reclaim seven mandals of Telangana that were merged with Andhra Pradesh during the bifurcation.

Speaking to the media after inspecting arrangements for the meeting between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, scheduled for July 6 at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan, Bhatti blamed BRS and BJP for the loss of the seven mandals. Therefore, he said the BRS party should launch a Deeksha (protest) to reclaim the seven mandals.

Bhatti stated that the upcoming meeting between the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu states would address issues that have been pending for a decade. He highlighted that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act did not mention the transfer of the seven mandals, which were merged into AP through an ordinance after the BJP came to power at the Centre.

He questioned BRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao's inaction, recalling Rao's promise as then Chief Minister of Telangana to fight for the mandals.

Bhatti mentioned that the Congress High Command was directly handling the issue of cabinet expansion. He also noted that the process for selecting a new PCC chief had begun.

Bhatti announced that a job calendar to fill vacancies in various government departments was being prepared, which was in line with the promises made in the Congress manifesto.

He dismissed KCR's claims of BRS winning the next elections and staying in power for 15 years as a "daydream," asserting that the BRS party was on the verge of extinction. He attributed KCR's downfall to past mistakes and saw no chance of his return to power.

Expressing regret over a farmer's suicide in Khammam, Bhatti stated that an independent investigation was ongoing and promised that all responsible would be punished. He appealed to farmers not to resort to extreme steps, assuring them of support from the Congress Government in all circumstances.
