HYDERABAD: Tension gripped Hyderabad’s Ashok Nagar area as police resorted to a lathi charge on candidates protesting for the rescheduling of the Group-1 exams.

The clash resulted in several candidates sustaining injuries. Protesters, raising anti-government slogans, demanded the cancellation of Government Order (GO) 29 and vowed to continue their agitation until their demands were met.

In response to the protests, several candidates were arrested and transported to different police stations. The police presence was intensified from Indira Park to RTC crossroads, with officers positioned at every turn. According to reports, even small groups of candidates were tracked down and arrested by the police.
