Two more guarantees, Rs 500 cylinder, Indiramma houses, free power to be implemented soon

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to be prepared to implement two guarantees immediately.
Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with Cabinet Sub-Committee and senior officials on the ‘Praja Palana’ programme at the Secretariat on Thursday and stressed the need to fulfill all the promises made to the people.
He said that two more Guarantees of the six guarantees would be implemented ensuring all the eligible people who applied in the Praja Palana would benefit. The officials were directed to make preparations for the implementation of two more guarantees. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, and P Srinivas Reddy participated in the review.
The Chief Minister discussed with the officials concerned the implementation of the distribution of cooking gas cylinders at the subsidised price of Rs 500 to the poor, the construction of Indiramma houses, and the supply of 200 units of free electricity scheme.
The officials were asked to be ready with the necessary action plan for the implementation of the three guarantees. The CM enquired about the financial requirement for the implementation of each guarantee and the details of the number of beneficiaries under each scheme.
He advised the state Finance Department to allocate necessary funds for the implementation of the guarantees in the budget. He said that he would hold another meeting with the Cabinet sub-committee before the Assembly session and take a final decision.
The Praja Palana program was conducted from December 28, 2023, to January 6, 2024, across the State. The Government received applications from people, who were eligible to avail of the benefit of five guarantees, in the gram sabhas and ward meetings. A total of 1,09,01,255 applications were registered and the data entry was completed in a record time on January 12,2024.
Officials explained to the CM that some of the applicants submitted more than one application and some of them did not furnish the details of their Aadhar and ration card numbers. Revanth Reddy advised the officials to re-examine such applications and conduct a field visit, if necessary, to verify the details in the applications.
The officials were also suggested to verify the details of the applicants if required so that no eligible person would be left to avail the benefits. Arrangements would be made to rectify the errors or mistakes in the applications in the MPDO offices or during the next Praja Palana programme.

The CM warned the officials not to impose unnecessary rules for the implementation of the guarantees. A mechanism would be developed to ensure that every eligible applicant would receive the benefit of the scheme. He ordered the officials to receive the applications as a continuous process and provide an opportunity to those who did not apply in the earlier Praja Palana.
