Unable to pay off debts, Siddipet collector's gunman kills family, shoots self

SIDDIPET: In a shocking incident that took place in Ramunipatla village of Chinnakodur mandal, Siddipet district, the collector's gunman killed his wife and two children before shooting himself.

The 2013 batch AR constable, identified as Akula Naresh (35), was the gunman for Siddipet Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil. He allegedly got into debt due to online betting. He got into constant fights with his wife over this issue.

As the altercation with his wife escalated on Thursday, Naresh brought children home from school, and killed them besides committing suicide. The deceased were identified as son Revanth (6), daughter Rishita (5), and wife Chaitanya (30).

Meanwhile, Siddipet Commissioner Swetha stated that Naresh resorted to this drastic step due to rising debts.

"We have registered a case and started investigating into the incident," Swetha said.
