The Minister expressed concern over the inordinate delay in supply of CMR paddy to the FCI and reminded the district collectors that the Centre complained about the delay in paddy deliveries from Telangana.

We have to buckle up and get 42 lakh metric tonnes of rice in the coming days,” he said. “The Civil Supplies Corporation owes Rs 58,000 crore and incurred a loss of Rs 11,000 in the past decade. This led to an interest payment of Rs 3,000 which is an additional burden on the Government,” he said. He called for streamlining the process of milling and supplying the CMR paddy to the FCI. He asked the officials concerned to set daily targets and complete the supply.
