Why Revanth Reddy, Bhatti dropped as Congress Lok Sabha incharges in just 3 months?
According to sources, Congress cadres had warned the duo that if candidates in those constituencies lost the Lok Sabha polls, Revanth and Bhatti would face severe criticism.
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Sunday released a list naming Ministers and senior leaders as incharges of all 17 Lok Sabha seats in the State.
What is surprising in the list is that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was dropped as the incharge of Chevella and Mahbubnagar constituencies. Similarly Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka too was dropped as the incharge of Secunderabad and Hyderabad constituencies.
According to sources, Congress cadres had warned the duo that if the candidates in those constituencies lost the Lok Sabha elections, Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka would face severe criticism.
It was in December 2023 that the Congress appointed incharges for all the 17 constituencies in the State. Among the Parliamentary constituency incharges released in the month of December, Revanth Reddy was named the incharge of Chevella and Mahabubnagar seats. Bhatti Vikramarka was named in charge of Secunderabad and Hyderabad Parliamentary seats. However, in the list announced on March 31, their names were dropped.
The TPCC is also facing backlash as MP Revuri Prakash Reddy (Warangal incharge) and Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao as incharge for Malkajgiri. These leaders had joined the party just before the Assembly elections. The existing cadres are unhappy that the party had deceived those loyalties who had been working hard for the party and were not named as incharges.
