HYDERABAD: Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Monday warned the opposition parties with severe consequences if they indulge in personal attacks against her. Speaking at an event in Ranga Reddy district, the minister got emotional over the issue and expressed outrage over the opposition parties spewing venom on her on personal front instead of raising development issues.

Reiterating that she had not joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for the sake of ministerial berth, Sabitha Indra Reddy clarified that she had to switch the party only to stand by the people and to ensure the continuation of the development activities in her constituency. She said that she would have become a minister 22 years back, had she really wanted to.

The minister also found fault with the state BJP for taking up the march of the unemployed in Warangal and questioned how they could protest against job recruitments when the Centre failed on its promise to create two crore jobs a year.

Stating that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was implementing many welfare schemes in the state, she asked the state BJP leaders whether they had the courage to question the Centre to implement Telangana welfare schemes in the BJP-ruled states.
