HYDERABAD: Several Telangana Youth Congress leaders were taken into custody by the police when they tried to organise a demonstration in front of the State Assembly while the session was in progress.

Activists led by State Youth Congress president K Shiva Sankar Reddy and city president Mota Rohith and others rushed towards the Assembly gates, raising slogans but the police stopped them and whisked them away in a waiting police van.

“The State Government owes Rs 1,68,896 to each one of the unemployed young people in the State under the promised unemployment dole scheme by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao,” Shiva Sankar told media.

He also demanded the filling up of all vacant posts in the State Government departments and criticised the Chief Minister for deceiving the youth in the name of employment to all and dole till they get a job.
