15,000 police jobs be filled in 15 days, TSPSC Group-1 exam afresh: Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy said on Wednesday that a notification would be issued to fill 15,000 posts in the State Police Department in the next 15 days.

Fresh notification for Group-1 posts would also be issued by adding 60 more vacancies.

The Chief Minister, in saying so, indirectly hinted that the Group 1 examination which was conducted twice and a case regarding its conduct again is pending disposal before the Supreme Court of India. The Telangana Hight Court had directed the scrapping of the examination that was conducted for a second time. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) had challenged the High Court order in the Supreme Court.

While those who had appeared for the examination were waiting for the apex court order, the Chief Minister dropped a hint that the exam would be scrapped and conducted again.

The Chief Minister said that the government was making all efforts to fill the vacancies and appealed to 30 lakh unemployed people to prepare for the competitive exams. The Government would take measures to instill confidence among the 32 lakh unemployed who lost faith in the system due to the “neglect of the previous government” in the last 10 years.

The government would also support the Singareni Collieries in the previous government.

The Chief Minister handed over appointment orders to 441 selected candidates in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited ( SCCL) at Dr BR Ambedkar statue in Hyderabad. Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and MLAS attended the programme.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over appointment orders to 412 people on compassionate grounds and another 29 people also received appointment orders. They included shift workers, junior assistants and motor mechanics.

The Chief Minister said that the handing over of the appointment orders was the testimony of the spirit of democracy before the statue of Ambedkar. Revanth Reddy said that the role of Singareni workers in the achievement of Telangana state was commendable. He recalled un-relented struggle by the coal workers for Telangana state. “The previous state government has made Singareni a sick industry,” he said adding that the Centre had also created many hurdles to Singareni Collieries.

The Chief Minister said that the Singareni region supported the Congress in the Assembly election and helped in the formation of the people’s government.

The BRS-affiliated workers wing had secured only 3 per cent of votes in the trade union polls, the Chief Minister said that he had already directed that 80 percent of jobs in Singareni be given to the locals only.

Revanth Reddy said that the government would discuss the issue of building a super specialty hospital in Singareni area and take a positive decision soon. Age relaxation for compassionate appointments would also be considered. MLAs K Sambasiva Rao, P Venkateshwarlu, Makkan Singh Raj Thakur, Prem Sagar Rao, Gaddam Vivek, Gaddam Vinod, Kova Lakshmi, Chief Secretary Santhi kumari, Singareni MD Balaram Naik, INTUC General Secretary Janaprasad, Singareni Colliery Workers Union President Vasireddy Seetharamaiah and others participated.
