The Balanagar SOT police have arrested two policemen belonging to Andhra Pradesh for allegedly trafficking cannabis in Bachupally.
HYDERABAD: The Balanagar SOT police have arrested two policemen belonging to Andhra Pradesh for allegedly trafficking cannabis in Bachupally.
According to police, the SOT, upon the reliable information, has started raids near Bachupally and detained a Maruti Eco vehicle with the registration number AP 39 QH 1763 on suspicion. The police, who inspected the car, discovered 22 kilograms of ganja in 11 packets worth Rs. 8 lakhs.
The police identified the individuals driving the vehicle as a head constable and a constable belonging to the third Battalion APSP in Kakinada who were on leave claiming ill-health.
It is learned that the duo resorted to the crime, hoping to make a profit through smuggling ganja. The Bachupally police have started the investigation.
