Hyderabad school principal's driver arrested for sexual abuse of 4-yr-old
The Banjara Hills police have invoked the sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act of 2012.
HYDERABAD: The Banjara Hills police on Wednesday arrested a driver of the principal of B S DAV Public School in Banjara Hills here for sexually abusing an LKG student of the school.
Rajani Kumar (35), a resident of Attapur, was arrested by the Banjara Hills police based on a complaint from the victim's parents against him on Tuesday. He is working as the driver of the principal of DAV School. Several parents protested at the Banjara Hills police station on Tuesday demanding his arrest for his alleged heinous act.
According to the victim's mother, her two children have been studying at DAV School for the past five months. Rajani Kumar sexually abused her daughter when she was alone in the digital classroom. The victim's mother also stated that her daughter had complained of leg pains and was terrified due to pain.
According to an official statement released by the Banjara Hills police, the accused has been harassing the victim for the past three months and has taken her to the digital classroom. He pressed her neck, undressed her and touched her private parts.
The Banjara Hills police, during their investigation, felt that the incident demonstrated the school principal's negligence. The parents reportedly told the police to charge the driver and principal both for the crime. The driver will be produced in the court but the school principal is currently inaccessible.
The Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA) has demanded strict punishment for both the driver, for his alleged heinous act, and the school authorities for their negligence. The Banjara Hills police have invoked the sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act of 2012 and are investigating the case further.
