Telangana CM KCR skipped the customary At-Home event hosted by Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan at Raj Bhavan
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao skipped the customary At-Home event hosted by Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan at Raj Bhavan on Monday evening. It is a tradition for the Governor to host the event coinciding with Independence Day.
KCR decided not to attend the event despite being scheduled to leave Pragati Bhavan at 6:50 pm for this purpose. Besides the Chief Minister, the ministers of the Telangana cabinet were also conspicuous by their absence.
Telangana Governor Tamilsai reportedly waited for KCR for about half an hour before beginning the event. The ongoing cold war between KCR and Tamilisai Soundararajan is believed to be the reason for the Chie Minister skipping the function.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy chose to ignore TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at an at-Home event hosted by Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan on the lawns of Andhra Pradesh Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada on Monday. Even though both attended the function, YS Jagan chose not to interact with Naidu.
Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his wife YS Bharathi greeted Governor Harichandan and his wife Suprava Harichandan upon their arrival. The governor couple welcomed them to the event. Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra attended the function along with his wife.
Moshen Raju, Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers, MPs and MLAs were among those who participated in the function.
