Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has for now decided to have a floor coordination with major opposition parties in the parliament.
HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has for now decided to have a floor coordination with major opposition parties in the parliament.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has called up Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Pawar, Tejaswi Yadav of RJD in Bihar, former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and discussed the strategy on how to counter the BJP in both Houses of Parliament.
KCR discussed issues like disinvestment, water resources and other pertinent and contentious points where the Centre was acting in a high handed manner.
The party sources indicated the following points:
• The Chief Minister wants to intensify his efforts to safeguard Democratic, Secular and Federal values which are under big threat now.
• KCR is making big exercise to expose the Union Government on deepening economic crisis in India.
• A battle will be launched against the Union Government in the ensuing Parliament session.
• In protest against the undemocratic ruling of the BJP government, KCR is getting ready to hold nationwide protests and expose the centre.
• Leaders of different states are responding positively to KCR's proposal to launch a democratic fight against the centre.
KCR will hold a meeting with TRS Parliamentary Party members to discuss the strategy to be adopted by the party during the upcoming sessions.
KCR wants the MPs to highlight the anti-Telangana policies and efforts of the Centre in destabilising the state finances, while the State was making rapid strides in terms of development.
By adopting progressive policies in agriculture, irrigation and allied sectors, the State achieved high paddy production. However, the Centre was troubling the state and rice millers by refusing to procure the paddy produced in Telangana.
The Centre which had ranked Telangana as a s top performer in the implementation of rural employment guarantee scheme and social audit made a volte-face and was causing a lot of hardship for the State in implementing the scheme. He would tell the MPs to expose the deceitful tactic of the Centre on the floor of the Parliament.
The TRS MPs would be given briefing on the plummeting rupee value against a US dollar. KCR would explain them on how to expose the fact that the fall of rupee value was due to the wrong economic policies of the centre. The same would be discussed threadbare by the MPs in the parliament.
KCR would highlight the wrong socio-political and undemocratic policies of the BJP Government that was jeopardising the secular fabrics, peace and amity in the country in the Parliamentary party meet. He wants the MPs to underscore the need for ensuring peace in the society and promoting brotherhood among all sections of society. The BJP's policies were affecting the federal spirit and the democracy is endangered and how to to fight the same would be explained to them and make them battle-ready.
