HYDERABAD: The Nandi Awards, which honor excellence in Telugu cinema, have not been announced for the past five years. The last announcement was made by the Telangana government in 2017, and since then, there has been no update. Many people have expressed disappointment over the lack of recognition for artists who contribute to the entertainment industry.

Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy addressed this issue during actor Murali Mohan's golden jubilee celebrations in Hyderabad. He promised to announce the Nandi Awards by the next Ugadi festival.

The minister, who recently assumed the role of Cinematography Minister, expressed his commitment to restarting the tradition of presenting Nandi Awards.
