Osman sagar, Himayat sagar reach full tank level

HYDERABAD: Two major reservoirs around Hyderabad, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, are recorded to be just a few feet away from reaching their Full Tank Level.

Osman Sagar's FTL is 1,790 ft and water level was recorded at 1,786.10 ft on Wednesday.

Himayath Sagar's FTL was 1,763.5 ft and water was recorded to be at 1,760 ft.

The HMWS&SB (Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board) opened two gates of each reservoir, on Monday, due to which the outflow of Osman Sagar was 312 cusecs and inflow was recorded to be 300 cusecs.

The outflow of Himayath Sagar was 170 cusecs and inflow was recorded to be 150 cusecs.

Hussain Sagar was recorded to cross its FTL on Tuesday, with its FTL being 513.41 m and the recorded level was 513.49 m, after which the GHMC had alerted people at lower lying areas and the Irrigation department.

The Singur project also continues to flood due to heavy rains. The inflow is 6,048 cusecs and outflow is 400 cusecs. The total water storage capacity of the project is 29.917 TMCs.

The current recorded water level is 21.078 TMC.

In view of the increasing flood, the officials suggest that the people of the low-lying areas of the project should be alert.
