Revanth Reddy appeals to Sonia Gandhi to contest from Telangana; she’ll decide at right time

NEW DELHI: Telangana Chief Minister and PCC President Revanth Reddy on Monday appealed to Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to contest from Telangana in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He brought to the attention of Sonia Gandhi that the TPCC had already resolved requesting her to contest from Telangana.
In response, Sonia Gandhi said that she would take a decision at a right time. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath, her official residence in New Delhi on Monday evening. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, State Revenue, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy informed Sonia Gandhi about the promises being implemented by the state government. He explained that among the six guarantees promised before the elections, free bus travel for women and increasing the limit of Rajiv Arogyashri from Rs.5 lakhs to Rs.15 lakhs were being implemented. He said that 14 crore women had already traveled in the buses for free.
Revanth Reddy informed Sonia Gandhi that the government had decided to provide free electricity supply up to 200 units and Rs.500 a gas cylinder.
He told Sonia Gandhi that it had been decided to take BC caste census and preparations were being made in this regard. The Chief Minister told her that “we are trying to win a maximum number of seats in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and we have already completed all kinds of preparations in this regard.”
He explained that the party received applications from aspirants from each Lok Sabha constituency in would commence a through exercise in vetting them and selecting strong candidates.
Revanth meets Rahul Gandhi in “Nyay Yatra”

On this occasion, the Chief Minister explained to Rahul Gandhi the two guarantees being implemented by the Congress government in the state, free bus travel for women and increasing the limit of Rajiv Arogya Shri from Rs.5 lakh to Rs.15 lakh. The Chief Minister reiterated the appeal to Sonia Gandhi to contest from Telangana in the Parliament elections. The Chief Minister explained to Rahul Gandhi the preparation for the Lok Sabha elections. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and State Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
