SC order is a slap on Jagan govt: Chandrababu Naidu
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on Monday reacted to the Supreme Court pulling up the YS Jaganmohan Reddy Government.
AMARAVATI: TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on Monday reacted to the Supreme Court pulling up the YS Jaganmohan Reddy Government for diverting the Rs 1,100 crore State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), meant for fighting the Covid pandemic. He said that the directions given by the apex court that the diverted funds be deposited back immediately to the SDRF account is nothing but a slap on the face of the State Government.
"The Jaganmohan Reddy Government is not only committing blunders but also resorting to serious foul-play to cover up these mistakes. Diverting the funds meant for relief of even the Covid-affected is a classic example of the inhuman nature of the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime," he commented.
"During calamities like floods or Covid pandemic times, the state government should come to the rescue of the affected people. Instead, it is diverting the funds meant for their assistance which is nothing but doing injustice to them," he maintained. He also had a piece of advice for the YS Jagan government. He said that the State Government should sincerely implement the directions of the Supreme Court that the Covid claim settlements should be completed within four weeks from the date of application. The ruling party should not look for escape routes under some pretext or the other, he quipped.
At least now, the State Government should come to the rescue of the Covid-affected families and save them from the troubles that they are facing, Chandrababu Naidu demanded.
