Talasani presents first Bonam to Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali

Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, along with his family members, presented the first Bonam to Secunderabad Ujjain Mahankali.

Speaking after offering prayers, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the Bonalu festival had become globally popular after the formation of Telangana.

He said every year prayers were offered to the goddess for rains and due to the mercy of the deity, the rains occurred abundantly and were welcome. Minister Talasani wished all the people of Telangana to be happy and said that everyone was invited regardless of politics.

"We have made all arrangements for devotees coming to the temple without any difficulty and organising Bonalu, food cart procession on a grand

scale," he said adding that the government was releasing funds to all temples including private temples to celebrate the festival with gusto.

MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of the Chief Minister KCR, presented bonam to the goddess. Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy and others also participated in the festival. Thousands of people thronged the temple and waited for the darshan of the Goddess. The Hyderabad City Police made elaborate security arrangements and diverted traffic to facilitate the devotees.
