Tamil actor Vishal denies contesting against Chandrababu

HYDERABAD: As the rumours spread on the Tamil actor Vishal's candidature from the Kuppam Assembly constituency on behalf of the YSR Congress, against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Vishal has responded saying that they are mere rumours.

As it has become a trend on social media that Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy convinced him to contest against Naidu, Vishal felt embarrassed. He said that the campaign going on that he was entering Andhra Pradesh politics and that he was going to contest from Kuppam constituency was false and made clear that he had not met anyone related to politics so far.

The flamboyant actor said that he was currently busy with films and said that he had no intention to enter Andhra Pradesh politics and contest against Chandrababu Naidu. The campaign ended when Vishal said that he was not in the ring from Kuppam.

Vishal is currently busy with films and his latest film Lathi directed by Vinod Kumar is ready for release.

The YSRCP also denied the news that Vishal will be contesting from the Kuppam on behalf of the YSRCP and confirmed Bharat as the candidate from Kuppam. Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy asserted that there was no truth in the news that Vishal would be fielded against Naidu.

The speculation became rife as Vishal belongs to Kuppam Assembly constituency, which has a large number of Tamilian voters. Even if caste equations are factored in, the actor belongs to Reddy community, perhaps construed as an obvious choice.

However, Bharat, already an MLC on behalf of YSR Congress, is the son of Chandramouli, a retired IAS officer who had contested against Naidu in the last two elections and died recently. Bharat is the obvious choice for the YSR Congress as the MLC is already nursing the constituency.
