TRS Tech Cell exposes Centre's'fake farmer'
The Bharatiya Janata Party is known for its knack of leveraging digital campaigns to promote the Narendra Modi Government’s image among the public.
HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party is known for its knack of leveraging digital campaigns to promote the Narendra Modi Government's image among the public. But a poster used by the NDA Government on Saturday caused big-time embarrassment to it.
Interestingly, it is the tech cell of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) that exposed the truth behind the poster.
The Union Agriculture Department tweeted a poster claiming that the farmers' income had doubled in the country, all thanks to the clarion call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The initiative evoked a sharp reaction from the TRS Working President and Minister KT Rama Rao.
KTR was quick to ask the Prime Minister's Office as to who the farmer shown in the twitter poster was. The PMO did not disclose the details of the farmer despite Minister KTR's questioning but the TRS tech cell tracked him down and revealed his identity.
The TRS tech cell claimed that he was not a farmer, but a model who acted in various promotional advertisements for the BJP. The saffron party had hired him and portrayed him as a farmer. The sensational claim by the TRS tech cell made the situation tricky for the BJP and the NDA Government as the poster was tweeted from the official Twitter handle of the Agriculture Department.
The NDA Government's advertisements were often dubbed as fake promotions unleashed in the BJP's trademark style. They frequently draw flak from the opposition parties and the discerning sections of the public who raised serious questions on their quality and credibility.
