Two Congress leaders allegedly attempt to murder BRS MPP of Wanaparthy

HYDERABAD: Two Congress leaders allegedly attempted to murder Pangal mandal parishad president in Wanaparthy district by pouring petrol on him.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday night at around 9 o'clock created a stir.

On Wednesday night at around 9 o'clock, while MPP Sridhar Reddy was speaking at the Peddamma temple, village Congress workers Adi Srinu and Adi Swami along with others came there and confronted with the former. The Congress activists accused Reddy of being the reason for preventing the Dalit Bandhu benefit to them. Dalit Bandhu is a government initiative for the welfare of Dalit communities. They tried to douse him with petrol and set him ablaze.

However, the people present around intervened, freeing Reddy and also attacking the assailants, causing them to fall down. The MPP lodged a complaint with the police but the police freed them after questioning.

Later, the assailants attempted to attack Reddy's parents, and hurled invectives in obscene language and threatened to kill him no matter what.

Following the incident, leaders and activists from the BRS accompanied Reddy to the police station to lodge a complaint. The BRS leaders kept guard of the MPP.
