YSR Congress cadres fretting, fuming on Sharmila, while she revs up Congress buzz in AP

AMARAVATHI: Suddenly the dead Congress was resuscitated in Andhra Pradesh with Y S Sharmila taking over its reins and launched her whirlwind tour of districts beginning from Icchapuram.

She is going ballistic against her brother and training her guns at the YSR Congress. She blamed Jagan for dividing the party and it’s not the Congress which was responsible.

Now, instead of maintaining a dignified silence over her wavering shifts to political stands, questions are rising as to what happens if Jagan launches a vitriolic attack. What if Jagan says she had parted ways with him as he denied any political position to her, including a Rajya Sabha seat and some mining contracts and industrial partnerships to her husband. She might deny, but who can prove whether or not she had pestered him for them. There would be none to testify if such a charge, which has been doing the rounds ever since she went out and floated a party in Telangana.

Everyone on the YSR Congress remained tight lipped on the reasons for her exit from the party and foraying into Telangana politics.

Her claims of “Telangana bidda and Telangana kodalu” would also be busted and already her former party’s (now extinct) former general secretary Konda Raghava Redddy said she was not YS Sharmila and asked as to H ow could she retain her late father’s surname. He asserted that she’s “Morsupalli” Sharmila, prefixing the surname of her husband. He went a bit ahead and said that she caused heartache and tears to the late YSR regarding her marriage with Brother Anil Kumar. He didn’t speak the further details about the issue.

YSR Congress spokesperson and senior leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy who always have been handling questions related to her with utmost dignity, addressing her as ‘Sharmilamma’, for the first time, spoke of the shallowness of her claims. He recalled how she forayed into the political arena with the blessings of her brother YS Jagan.

Now the war between the YSR Congress cadres and Sharmila is in the open.

She’s collecting the spent forces and who neither contested not won any election in the last 10 years. The old hags are out to guide her by infusing their own senile advises into her brain.

At the most, the Congress might accommodate the disgruntled elements of the YSR Congress who were denied tickets, and also those of the same ilk on the TDP, the Jana Sena, and some retired politicians. She would be offering a platform for all the ‘rejects and seconds’.

A staunch loyalist of the late YSR and a very senior leader in the Congress, who has planned to join the Jana Sena, told NewsTAP that her barbs against her brother were unjust and incorrect. She’s unnecessarily tormenting the departed soul of the late Dr Rajasekhara Reddy and people would not appreciate such waywardly comments. He said he had his own reservations against the Chief Minister and his style of governance and functioning. However, the sharp and unsavoury remarks of Sharmila were absolutely in “bad taste”, he pointed out.

However, the YSR Congress leaders and cadres are no longer in a mood to take her disparaging remarks against Jagan lying down.

If Jagan blows the lid off, she would not be in a position to withstand the vituperative from them. As it is many of the cadres are airing their anger against her for trying to play the spoilsport. They are recalling how Sharmila is straightaway playing into the hands of Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu's nefarious designs. They actually have posted on social media platforms decrying her meeting Naidu and all the political foes of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy and YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Some of them went to the extent of saying that Dr Rajasekhara Reddy' would have turned in his grave with the "fall" of his daughter from grace.
