Film industry stands united against "vicious verbal assaults" on its members: Chiranjeevi
Actor Chiranjeevi criticised Minister Konda Surekha's remarks and demanded immediate withdrawal of statements.
HYDERABAD: Mega Star Chiranjeevi has condemned the recent remarks made by a woman minister (Konda Surekha), expressing deep disappointment over what he termed as disgraceful comments.
"It is a shame that celebs and members of film fraternity become soft targets as they provide instant reach and attention. We as Film Industry stand united in opposing such vicious verbal assaults on our members. No one should stoop to this level for scoring political points by dragging unconnected people and more so women into their political slug fest and make distasteful fictional allegations," Chiranjeevi said in his tweet.
The actor further appealed to political leaders to elevate their discourse rather than degrade it. He reminded those in honourable positions that they are chosen to make society better, not to contaminate it with divisive rhetoric.
Chiranjeevi urged the concerned minister to make amends and withdraw the malicious remarks without delay, emphasising the need for public figures to set better examples.
