VIKARABAD: Twenty-six female students from KGBV School in Naskal of Pargi mandal in Vikarabad district fell ill and were immediately taken to the government hospital for treatment.

The students exhibited symptoms such as difficulty in breathing, severe abdominal pain, and vomiting. Doctors attributed the illness to the intake of iron folic acid tablets.

The incident occurred during a special drive to eliminate anaemia ordered by the District Collector. As part of their evening snacks, school staff provided peanuts to the students, which reportedly caused the illness. Initially, four students fell ill and were taken to Pargi Government Hospital, followed by 22 more students.
