50-year-old woman killed, gold jewellery stolen in Chirala

CHIRALA: A 50-year-old woman was brutally murdered and looted by unidentified persons at Bhavanarushipeta in Chirala town of Prakasam district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Vootla Vijayalakshmi.

Reportedly, the assailants, as part of their plan for a robbery, broke into the house of Vijayalakshmi and killed her. She had earlier lodged a complaint on them for theft. The accused, this time too, fled from the spot with gold ornaments after the murder.

The police reached the spot upon learning about the incident from locals and collected the details of the case. The police registered a case and started the investigation.
