6 arrested in Jubilee Hills Xora Pub exotic animals display case
Sleuths of CTF, West Zone Team, along with Forest Department officials conducted raids at Hyderabad Exotic Pets, Saidabad, for displaying exotic animals
HYDERABAD: Following a serious outrage from the social media users over alleged displaying of exotic animals in Xora Bar and Kitchen, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, along with Forest Department officials conducted raids at Hyderabad Exotic Pets, Saidabad, for organizing and exhibiting wild animals at Xora Pub under the limits of Jubilee Hills police station.
During the raids, the police apprehended six persons and rescued 14 Persian Cats, three Bengal Cats, two Iguanas (Lizard), a pair of Cocktools, Sun Conure (Parrot) and two Sugar Gliders. The accused were identified as Vinay Reddy, owner of Xora Pub and organizer of event: Prudhvi , operational manager of Xora Pub, (absconding), Varahala Naidu , manager of Xora Pub, Tarun (owner of Happy Wag.Pet Hyderabad), Vamshi (seller of pet animals), Karthik (sells pet animals) and Yaser(owner of Hyderabad exotic pets).
According to CTF Deputy Commissioner of Police (OSD) P Radha Krishna, the prime accused Vinay Reddy organized an event in the name “ WILD NIGHT” on Sunday through event organizers and planned to attract customers and make publicity towards his pub. His employees and event organizers organized and exhibited wild animals such as Bengal Cats, Ball Python, Iguanas (lizard) at the pub without any valid permission. The apprehended accused and rescued animals to the Forest Department officials for taking further action, he said.
