ACB recovers Rs 6 crore from Nizamabad municipal official in DA case
A Municipal Corporation official in Nizamabad, India, has been arrested for possessing assets disproportionate to his income.;
NIZAMABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided the home of Dasari Narender, Superintendent and in-charge Revenue Officer at the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation and uncovered Rs 2.93 crore in cash at his residence.
Further, Rs 1.10 crore was found in bank accounts belonging to Narender, his wife, and his mother. The ACB also seized 51 tolas of gold, valued at Rs 6 lakh, and 17 properties estimated to be worth Rs 1.98 crore. The total value of the assets seized amounts to approximately Rs 6.07 crore.
Narender has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988 for acquiring assets disproportionate to his income. He was arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad. The ACB investigation is ongoing.
