AP cop booked under POCSO Act for harassing minor in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Banjara Hills police on Wednesday registered a case against a Head Constable of Andhra Pradesh under Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, for allegedly assaulting a minor girl and her family members in Hyderabad.

According to reports, Maheswar Reddy, the head constable, married the mother of the minor girl after which he started sexually harassing her. He was also allegedly threatening her family members. The minor girl, along with her father and brother, lives at Yousufguda.

Based on a complaint from the victim, the police registered a case against the accused head constable under POCSO Act.
