HYDERABAD: Four youngsters were killed, three on the spot, and eight others were grievously injured when a car carrying 12 friends to a bachelor’s party crashed into a stationary lorry near Khanapur under Narsingi police station limits on Friday. Three persons, two of them sisters, died on the spot in the incident while another succumbed to injuries at a hospital later.

The deceased were identified as Harshitha, Ankitha and Nithin besides Amrit, who was pronounced dead at a hospital a few hours later.

According to reports, 12 friends headed in a four-wheeler to Ocean Park at Gandipet in Hyderabad to celebrate the bachelor's party of one Divya on Friday afternoon. The car, upon reaching Khanapur on Shankarpalli-Hyderabad road, rammed into a stationary lorry at Pochamma temple, leaving three dead including two sisters on the spot and nine others seriously injured.

The locals shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. Amrit, one of the injured, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. On the other hand, the condition of the other injured is said to be critical.

The Narsinghi police retrieved the dead bodies stuck in the mangled remains of the car and shifted them to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police blamed the incident on overspeeding. They identified the driver of the car as Prasad. The investigation is going on.
