VIJAYAWADA: In a shocking incident, an engineering student was found dead, with his body completely charred, in Penamaluru near Vijayawada on Wednesday, raising suspicions of his gruesome murder. The incident, which sent shockwaves and created panic, happened on the Pedapulipaka road in Penamaluru of Krishna district.

The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Jeevan, a third-year engineering student of Sri Potti Sriramulu College and his family resides near a limestone kiln in Vijayawada. According to reports, Jeeven left the house on Tuesday night after informing his family members that he was going to a birthday party.

To the family’s shock, Jeevan’s dead body, completely burnt, was found at Pedapulipaka on Wednesday morning. It is not yet clear if it was a case of suicide or Jeevan was burnt to death. Full details of the incident are awaited.

The police shifted the body to Uyyuru Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination and began their investigation. The police are probing on the leads of an alleged love affair and the possibility of it leading to Jeevan’s murder.
