Case filed against 70-year-old man for abusing Revanth Reddy during demolition protest

ADILABAD: A case has been booked against a 70-year-old man, Ganganna, by the Adilabad One Town police after he allegedly abused Chief Minister A leader Revanth Reddy during a protest against the demolition of houses in the area.

Ganganna, along with several other residents of the colony, expressed his frustration openly during the protest, using harsh language towards Revanth Reddy. As a result, the police registered cases against him and a few other colony residents under sections 65(2), 5, and 6, including provisions under the BNS POCSO act.

The demolition operations, which were likened to large-scale drives seen in Hyderabad, have sparked anger among the community, leading many to vent their frustrations in public. Ganganna's comments, made in a moment of emotional distress, have led to legal action, highlighting the ongoing tensions between authorities and affected residents in Adilabad.
