HYDERABAD: The Gopalapuram police arrested a chain-snatcher at Rathifile Bus Stop in Secunderabad on Tuesday and recovered a gold chain weighing about 30 grams and worth Rs one lakh from his possession. The accused, identified as Bunidu Kavali Ramesh, was apprehended when he was loitering around the place in a suspicious manner.

Incidentally, the chain was snatched from a 50-year-old woman in Chilkalguda on August 4. As per a complaint lodged by the victim, she was walking towards Chilkalguda X Road on that fateful day when an unknown person came from behind, beat her up and snatched her gold chain weighing approximately 30 grams. He then sped away towards Chilkalguda.

On Tuesday, the crime team found the accused moving around in a suspicious manner at the Rathifile bus stop. During questioning, the man confessed that he had committed the above offence.
