Constable arrested for targeting and harassing minor girls in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A constable from the Shamshabad Police Station has been arrested for targeting and physically abusing minor girls.
The incident came to light at the Rajendranagar Police Station. Pradeep, a constable from the 2020 batch, had previously worked at Rajendranagar, Kompally, and Kukatpally police stations before his current posting at Shamshabad.
While stationed at Rajendranagar, Pradeep allegedly trapped a local girl, morphed her photos, and used them to threaten her. He also reportedly subjected her to physical abuse. The harassment escalated, prompting the victim to confide in her mother. With her mother's help, she approached the police, bringing the matter to light.
The victim filed a complaint with the Rajendranagar police, supported by a team. Investigations revealed that Pradeep had committed similar offences in other locations where he had been posted. Authorities are now taking the matter seriously. The police reportedly found obscene photos and videos on Pradeep's phone, leading to his arrest.
