Rich Guntur farmer’s son turns drug peddler, caught by Cyberabad police

HYDERABAD: In a swift operation, the Cyberabad police's Special Operations Team (SOT) in Madhapur has apprehended a well-educated youth and seized a substantial quantity of MDMA drugs worth Rs. 2.25 lakh. The accused, identified as Podila Jai Chand, was taken into custody near Sun City's P&T Colony under the jurisdiction of Rajendra Nagar police station.
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that Jai Chand hailed from a farming family in Guntur district and had pursued BCA in Computers at JKCC, Guntur. He had also worked as an OLA driver and ventured into the sand supply business before eventually joining Wipro in a non-IT role with an annual package of Rs 1.8 lakh.
However, dissatisfied with his income, Jai Chand turned to drug peddling as means to make quick money. He had connections with individuals in Bengaluru, including his friend Harsha and a supplier named Sohan alias Sridhar, who was the main source of the MDMA drugs. Jai Chand had previously traveled to Bengaluru to procure drugs and had consumed a portion of it himself before attempting to sell the remainder in Hyderabad.
