Daylight robbery in Gandhinagar: Thieves decamp with 50 tolas of gold, cash
A family in Gandhinagar, Bholakpur, was robbed of valuables worth lakhs while they were away from home.
HYDERABAD: In a brazen daylight robbery, thieves decamped with 50 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 1 lakh in cash from a flat in Gandhinagar, Bholakpur.
The incident took place at Bhavani Sheela Avenue Apartments in Krishnanagar Colony, falling under the jurisdiction of the Gandhinagar Police Station.
The flat, located on the third floor (Plot No. 303), belonged to Srinivas, an HDFC employee. According to reports, Srinivas had left for work in the morning, while his wife went to her parents' house to attend to her ailing mother. Their daughter had also left for college.
The theft came to light when the daughter returned home and found the door lock broken. Upon entering, she discovered that the cupboards had been ransacked and valuables were missing. She immediately alerted the police.
A team from the Gandhinagar Police Station, along with a clues team, reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
