Pharmaceutical companies usually provide physician samples to doctors for free distribution to patients. These samples are strictly not for commercial sale. The illegal stocking and sale of these samples, along with expired drugs, constitute violations of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Offenders can face penalties, including imprisonment for up to two years.

Assistant Director D. Saritha supervised the raid, which was supported by Drugs Inspectors B. Govind Singh, G. Anil, P. Renuka, and M. Surendranath. The DCA has confirmed that further investigations are ongoing, and appropriate legal actions will be pursued against those involved.
