Madhu Babu was promised Rs 30 lakh to donate his kidney, but paid only Rs 50,000 after seven months.
GUNTUR: After accumulating huge debts due to loan apps, a 31-year-old auto driver from Guntur fell victim to a kidney racket.
The victim, Madhu Babu, who was desperate to repay his debts, was approached by an agent who informed him about an advertisement on Facebook promising Rs 30 lakh for a kidney donation.
Babu was persuaded to "donate" his kidney, with fake documents being created to facilitate the process. The surgery allegedly took place at Vijaya Super Speciality Hospital in Vijayawada. However, seven months after the operation, Babu received only Rs 50,000 of the promised amount.
Frustrated and feeling cheated, Madhu Babu decided to come forward and expose the kidney racket to the media, revealing the shocking details of his ordeal.
