According to the police, Krishna ganged up with a real estate businessman named Surender to rob the retired officer. The SI’s alleged involvement in the crime came to the fore after Surender, who was arrested a few days ago, spilled the beans on the greedy plot.

Retired IRS officer Samuel Prasad, the victim, reportedly has assets over Rs 100 crore. He is living alone in Gandhinagar under Musheerabad Police Station limits ever since his wife passed away 10 years ago. Their children have settled down abroad. Using this to his advantage, Surender, who happens to be Samuel Prasad’s partner in real estate business, planned to snatch away his assets with the help of SI Krishna.

On May 31,2023, Samuel fell unconscious as his food was allegedly drugged by Samuel. The accused then stole Rs 5 lakh cash, Rs 30 lakh worth gold besides property documents worth Rs 100 crore from the retired officer’s house. Samuel was later admitted to a hospital by his sister who visited his house four days later. After recovering from his indisposition, Samuel lodged a police complaint against Surender on June 14.

Surender was arrested and sent to remand on June 17. During the course of interrogation, the accused revealed that Samuel Prasad owned lands in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Surrender has been partnering Samuel in the real estate business since 2020.

Surender brokered the deal for the sale of Samuel’s land properties on the outskirts of the city at Rs 30 lakh per acre. It was then that SI Krishna hatched a plot to usurp all of Samuel’s properties.

With the help of Surender, he got hold of the retired officer’s property documents and has been keeping them in his possession. On Thursday, when the police went to Krishna’s house, they found all the documents belonging to the victim. While police teams were formed to track down Krishna, who is absconding, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra placed the the SI under suspension.
