HYDERABAD: Expensive jewellery worth several lakh rupees was allegedly stolen from a five-star hotel in Hyderabad on Tuesday. According to reports, the alleged theft happened at a five-star hotel located in the heart of the city and the gold jewellery was studded with diamonds worth many lakhs of rupees. The victims, whose ornaments were stolen, filed a complaint with the police, the reports claimed.
The stolen jewellery reportedly includes a 10.36 gm diamond bracelet, 35 diamonds, a 3.61 gm diamond ring with 89 diamonds, a gold chain and earrings.
However, confusion prevails over the five-star hotel amid contradictory claims by two police stations in the city. Initial reports said that the crime allegedly took place at the Park Hyatt in Banjara Hills. When contacted, the Banjara Hills police denied any knowledge of such an incident and on the contrary, claimed that the theft had taken place at The Park hotel in Somajiguda. When Newstap contacted Punjagutta police station, they asserted that the crime had taken place at the Park Hyatt in Banjara Hills. They maintained that no case of a theft of this nature occurring at any hotels within its limits was registered.
