Fake currency racket busted, 2 arrested in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's South Zone Task Force has busted a counterfeit currency racket and arrested two persons in this connection.

The two arrested persons were identified as Syed Ansar, a native of Maharashtra, and S K Imran of Vatepally. Acting on a tip-off that the two were involved in printing fake currency notes, the sleuths of the task force raided their hideout and seized counterfeit currency which, if circulated, would be worth Rs 2.5 lakhs from their possession. The fake notes were printed in the denominations of 100, 200, 500 and 5,000.

The accused were later handed over to the Mirchowk police for further interrogation and investigation.
