KHAMMAM: Alleging that his farmland had been grabbed by followers of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, a farmer died by suicide by drinking pesticide. Before taking the extreme step, he recorded a video on his mobile, holding a can of pesticide.

The farmer, Bhojadla Prabhakar, 43, ended his life in Proddutur of Chintakani mandal in the Madhira constituency of Khammam district on Monday. In his video message, Prabhakar complained of injustice by Bhatti's followers, Kurapati Kishore and others. He addressed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, alleging mistreatment by the Congress government, which claims to be a 'Rythu Rajyam'.

In his video, Prabhakar sought justice for his family. The video has gone viral on social media, but officials have yet to respond.

"So far I have not joined anyone's side. I lived as a farmer. I voted for the Congress thinking that it would be better if there was a Rythu Rajyam. Is this the justice I got for voting for the Congress government? I have no choice but to die. The government should do justice to my family members after my death," Prabhakar said in the video.

Prabhakar alleged that, at the instigation of Kurapati Kishore, Pentyala Rama Rao, Gurram Naga Malleswara Rao, Mogili Srinu, and Mogili Muttiah, some people from the same village destroyed his farm using JCBs and procleans. Complaints to Tehsildar Ramesh and Sub-Inspector Sheikh Nagulmira were of no avail. He said he had come to the Collectorate on Monday to meet the District Collector, but the staff told him he was late. Therefore, he was consuming the pesticide. He complained that 3 acres and 10 guntas of his 7 acres were completely destroyed.

Prabhakar was found lying unconscious near a mango grove in Khammam after drinking the pesticide. Passersby informed his family, who reached the spot immediately. Prabhakar died before being taken to the hospital. His body was shifted to Khammam Government Hospital for postmortem. Police are investigating the incident.
