Fire breaks out at Union Bank of India branch in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: A fire broke out at the Union Bank of India branch located in the Bus Stand Complex of Karimnagar late Monday night. The blaze, believed to have been caused by a short circuit, started around 11:30 PM.

Local residents noticed smoke emanating from the bank and promptly alerted the fire brigade and the police. Firefighters from Karimnagar and Manakondur arrived swiftly to tackle the blaze. Due to heavy smoke, fire personnel sprayed water from outside the building. They broke the windows and used tear gas to enter and control the fire.

The incident destroyed records and computers in the bank, which were burnt to ashes. An investigation is underway to assess the full extent of the damage and the exact cause of the fire.
