Five interstate drug peddlers held in Hyderabad by anti-narcotic sleuths

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) along with Cyberabad police apprehended five people in possession of the narcotic drug MDMA in Chandanagar police station limits of Cyberabad and seized 18 grams of drug from their possession.

In a press conference, Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) SP Gummi Chakravarthy revealed that the main accused Surya Kissan, a native of Kerala, worked as a hostel manager in Goa and sold drugs to tourists there.

Rohan Paul, the other accused, came into contact with MG Akhil during their visit to Goa and began obtaining drugs from him and sold them to needy consumers in Hyderabad and Rajahmundry.

Surender and Arun Kumar, along with other accused, allegedly purchased MDMA from Surya Kissan and sold it to needy customers for easy money.

TSNAB sleuths and Chandanagar police station officials apprehended them and recovered 18 gms MDMA and a bike worth Rs. 2 lakh on the intervening night of October 3-4, 2023, when the accused Akhil M.G visited Chandanagar to deliver MDMA to all four drug peddlers.

TSNAB urged youth and parents to monitor their children's activities, contact the police, and report anti-social activities to prevent drug-related issues for a drug free city.

A case was registered under Crime No.791/2023 U/s 8(c) r/w 22(c), 27, 29 of the NDPS Act-1985 at Chandanagar police station.
