HYDERABAD: Former Bapatla MP and senior YSRCP leader Nandigam Suresh was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police in connection with the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headquarters in Mangalagiri.

Suresh was taken into custody in Hyderabad and is being transferred to Andhra Pradesh.

Suresh had previously applied for anticipatory bail in this case, but the High Court rejected his petition. Following this, Tulluru police attempted to arrest him at his residence in Uddandarayunipalem on Wednesday. However, Suresh reportedly switched off his mobile phone and went into hiding.

Using mobile signals, police tracked his location, and a special team arrested him in Hyderabad as he attempted to flee. Other YSRCP leaders, including Devineni Avinash, Lella Appi Reddy, and Talasila Raghuram, are also wanted in connection with the case and are believed to be in hiding. Police teams from Guntur and Bapatla districts are searching for them.
