GATE College owner survives supari gang’s murder attempt in Kodad, 12 arrested
Atleast 12 people have been taken into custody and investigation is underway. According to few reports, a few Government employees too are allegedly involved in the murder plot.
SURYAPET: In a spine-chilling incident, an attempt was made to murder the owner of a college in Kodad town of Suryapet district on Thursday, According to the police, a few partners of the college plotted to eliminate the owner of GATE Engineering College Kantha Rao.
The partners meticulously planned a car collision and hired criminals to execute the plan. In their first attempt, they tried to ram Rao’s car into a nearby pond with a DCM in Munagala mandal. But he managed to escape unscathed. Undeterred, the assailants hit the victim’s car again. Despite the impact, Kantha Rao miraculously survived the attempt on his life-that was made to look like an accident-with only minor injuries. Kantha Rao attributed his narrow escape to the alertness of his driver. Following the incident, Rao filed a complaint with the police.
Investigation revealed that Rao's college partners had given supari of Rs 50 lakh to a mercenary gang to murder Kantha Rao. An advance payment of Rs 5 lakh was made to the assailants.
