HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Police have come under fire after allegedly subjecting the driver and cook of a local Congress leader to "third-degree" torture.

The incident occurred following an altercation during the recent Bonalu festival celebrations in Yousufguda. The victims, who work for Congress leader Naveen Yadav, alleged that they were detained for two days and beaten with rubber belts at the Punjagutta ACP's office. They were later presented before a court, which questioned the police's use of force.

The police maintained that the men were involved in a separate assault and denied any wrongdoing.
