Hyderabad police bust Rs 1.1 cr hawala racket, arrest 4

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's Task Force, South Zone Team, Hyderabad, along with Shainayathgunj Police, busted a hawala racket and apprehended four suspects who were operating hawala in and around Hyderabad. A total of Rs. 1, 10, 73,400 and four mobile phones were seized from their possession.

According to reliable information, the South Zone Task Force team and Shainayathgunj Police conducted vehicle inspections at M.J. Bridge and Jummerath Bazaar on Thursday. A Chevrolet Spark with the licence plate AP 09 BJ 9076 was stopped over and inspected for any signs of abnormal activity.

The cops discovered a large amount in a black polythene cover. They provided no adequate explanation for the sum when questioned.

The main accused, Kamlesh Kumar, a Chudibazar resident who runs a plastic bag business in Begumbazar, Hyderabad, was dissatisfied with his earnings. He devised a strategy for operating Hawala in and around the city. He discussed his plan with Rahul Agarwal for this purpose, and he also agreed to do Hawala business. Kamlesh Kumar arranged for workers Ashok Kumar and Ratan Singh to pick up and deliver goods to customers.
