Jana Sena leader booked for cheating, forgery in Telangana

HYDERABAD: The Telangana police booked a ZPTC member of the Jana Sena party hailing from Veeravarasam of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh for alleged cheating and forgery. Gunda Jayaprakash Naidu, the ZPTC member, and a few others were charged under relevant sections by the Telangana police.

According to information available, the case was registered against the Jana Sena leader and the others for allegedly using fake documents to acquire a tender for the supply of shrimp and fish to the ponds in the 32 districts of Telangana. They are also accused of creating fake bank guarantees by using forged documents which enabled them to eventually bag the tender.

Telangana State Fisheries Department has invited tenders worth Rs.113 crores for the release of fish and shrimp in the ponds spread across 32 districts of Telangana. Jayaprakash Naidu has also allegedly used benamis to file multiple tenders in 9 to 12 districts. The police officials, upon receiving the complaint, investigated the matter. Incidentally, their probe proved that the accused had submitted fake bank guarantees and forged documents.
